As the winner of a nationwide mural contest, this was a custom design fashioned to fit with the Massanutten Regional Library’s vision “to be the welcoming heart of our community where all come to learn, discover, create, and connect.” Two rounds of design

Inspired by my own love of reading, and the imaginative worlds and avenues of new learning that it can inspire, I created this mural as a celebration of the unlimited potential that good books can provide to anyone who can access them.

After transferring the image through the use of a projecto, 50 plus different colors of spray paint were used to paint this mural. Much of the process was free handed with the paints to create a loose, painterly feel, emphasizing the imaginitive aspect of the design.
